Hogle Zoo

I took Caleb to the zoo this morning. The weather this week has been in the 60s, and I know it is only going to get colder, so as soon as I felt well enough (darn cold!), I decided to take him. The weather was perfect and it wasn't very busy, so it was a great day to go to the zoo.

He loved it! He ran pretty much the whole 2 hours we were there. He loved looking at the animals, playing with the leaves, and wandering wherever his little heart desired.

I only wish I had taken more photos.

His favorite part was going on the carousel. He cried for 20 minutes after it was done because he wanted to get back on. I ended up having to take him half-way across the park before he calmed down.

I am definitely going to have to take him back again!

What? I have a blog?

Really, I have been the worst at updating this lately. I guess blog posting just hasn't been a priority. And I just got out my camera and realize taking photos hasn't been a priority either. Oops!

Here are a few I managed to find:

At my mom's house. He loves to wear that hat around.

Eating breakfast with his hat and George. (Sorry about the quality, this is from Craig's iPhone.)

This is the face I get lately when I try to take his picture. He comes up really close to the camera and does an overly fake smile.

Eating his 'nack

We bought this easel for him at Ikea, and he loves to draw on it.

Trying to take his temperature. He has been sick 4 or 5 times in the past 2 months. Luckily, no flu, and no high fevers - just colds and stomach bugs. But still, no fun at all!

First time playing with playdough - and I made it myself. Well, I did have a little bit of help from Caleb. Once I convinced him it wasn't to eat, he seemed to enjoy it.

Guess I should give a little update about all of us too.

Caleb is 19 months now. And growing bigger all the time. He is over 3 feet tall, and weighs about 29 pounds (as of our last doctor's visit). And he still wants to be carried everywhere, which is making me tired! He is saying lots of words: hi, bye, dark, sticky, car, truck, tv, cheese, 'nack (for snack), cow - and lots more. He knows lots of animal noises, and tries to say the name's of the animals. It is so funny to hear him "moo" like a cow. He really loves to hide from us and wait for us to find him. Usually he is pretty easy to spot, but he doesn't know it. We love to play with him. He likes going on the regular swings, and does really well holding on. He absolutely loves to go outside and play. He loves to watch Curious George and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. He also loves to help Craig or I with whatever we are doing.

Craig is busy with work, as usual. He is also taking a class to study for the GMAT, so he can apply for MBA school. I am doing a pharmacy technician program, so we switch off who is home with Caleb almost every evening during the week. I think it has been really good for Caleb to be able to spend time with Craig without me around. Caleb has gotten better at letting me leave, though there are still a few tears. It has been good for me too. I really enjoy my studies, and I get to start the on-the-job training within the next few weeks. I am not sure if I am going back to work right away, but this training is something I have always wanted to do.

We didn't do anything for Halloween. Caleb came down with a cold the Thursday before, and was feeling pretty miserable. I had bought him this costume I saw at Costco about a week before, but it ended up being a little too small. We tried it on him and here are a couple of videos:

My favorite part was the cute little padded bottom and tummy. Craig didn't think the costume had much cool factor, so we were going to look for something else, but ended up not worrying about it since he was sick.

I have to say, I think we have the cutest little boy ever! He definitely keeps us laughing.
